Opening procedures:
Unlock the door to PFS from bottom to top
Switch off the alarm using the fob when entering the PFS
Unlock the key box, break the seal
The security door remains closed at all times. Unlock the security door using the nearest key to the fob, break the seal, and then sign and date.
Unlock the fire exit and remove the bar.
Use the fob to open the shutters to the cigarettes/vapes (2 dots to open and 1 to close).
Observe Scott and Carol serve customers. Customers ask for a VAT receipt, learn that all receipts are VAT.
Key Terminology:
POS (Point of Sale): The system used to process transactions (the till and associated software).
Forecourt: The area where the fuel pumps are located.
Kiosk: The building where customers pay for fuel and other items.
Drive-Off: When a customer leaves without paying for fuel.
No Means of Payment (NMOP): A more formal term for a drive-off, often used in reporting.
Fuel Card: A card businesses use to pay for fuel, often with pre-negotiated prices.
Pre-authorisation: A temporary hold placed on a customer's credit/debit card to ensure sufficient funds are available. This is common with Pay at Pump transactions.
Attended Service: Where someone else fuels for you.
Self-Service: Where you fuel your own vehicle.
